pity party

I've had a couple (maybe 2) people tease me that I haven't been updating my blog 2-3 times daily lately, like I did the first week or so that I joined blog-universe.

My sincerest apologies go out to all my (maybe 2) die-hard readers.

In my defense, this weekend has not exactly been blog-worthy. In fact, I've been having a major pity party today -- and you, my blog friends, have just received an exclusive invitation to hear all about it.

First of all, the 60-degree weather I thought we were supposed to have Friday, didn't happen.

And naturally there's no better way to spend a Saturday than a trip to acute care --- so I rolled out of bed and headed there. I didn't brush my hair, change out of my pajamas or put on make-up -- I was far too ill for any of that trivial nonsense.

I waited around an hour to see the nurse-practitioner on duty, and then after approximately a one-minute check-up I was told it was "nothing to be concerned about." SO glad I waited an hour to have someone take my temperature and blood pressure and tell me I'm fine.

The distasteful sarcasm is my illness talking.

I was embarrassed and frustrated when she told me nothing was wrong -- frustrated, because I knew I didn't feel well despite what they said and horrified that I went out into public looking so terrible.

But despite the nurse practitioner's opinion, I still felt awful. So when we got home I stayed in my pajamas, headed back to bed and slept until about an hour ago. Just a little 12-hour nap. Nothing that I don't do on a regular basis.

On the brightest side of my day, it was so refreshing to see a little rain today.

And I have 2 cute cats -- which of course makes everything better.
